73 solar dryers were ordered and installed in 9 States in the country to train rural women, self-help groups, NGOs, Educational Research Institutes and Private entrepreneurs in processing fruits and vegetables for sustainable livelihood. Among them 20 NGOs, 12 Educational Research Institutes and 12 Private entrepreneurs were procured the above dryers. The educational institutions have started for research programmes in these dryers to find out new findings of nutritional facts of fruits, vegetables and medicinal plants and green leafy vegetables.
Solar dryers were exported to Australia (2), Mauritius (1), Malaysia (1) & Saudi Arabia (1) for processing their local produce.
